The RMIT WRN is proud to join STEMM+ schools and CoBL to support 2 academic candidates from STEMM+ schools and CoBL to attend The WATTLE (Women ATTaining Leadership)- Academic Program (A2025).
The WATTLE (Women ATTaining Leadership) Program is a carefully designed residential program aimed at empowering women to attain senior university leadership roles. It is owned entirely by participating universities, with all surplus funds reinvested into the program.
Three WATTLE programs will run this year – one for professional women, held in June, and one for academic women, held in November. This call is for expression of interest for the November academic program from STEMM+ schools (STEM Schools + AUD, PCPM, F&T, AISSC) and CoBL.
The participants will need to meet the following criteria. Participants will need to:
- Agree to attend introduction, post-program, and fellowship sessions online.
- Agree to be fully committed to the 4.5-day residential program (late afternoon Monday to early afternoon Friday, plus travel time) and attend all sessions including dinners.
- Hold a level D or E appointment.
- Provide their own transport to and from the venue. The venue for the academic program for 2025 will be held in Melbourne, Victoria (Venue tbc)

Applicants need to submit the following for consideration:
- A Resume
- A short statement, no more than 1,000 words, indicating how they believe they will benefit from attending the program. For instance, their development needs for leadership attributes or management competencies, and how they will share what they have learned when they return to their university. The participant’s statement of anticipated benefits will be useful in evaluating the effectiveness of the program following its conclusion.
- A written statement of endorsement from their immediate supervisor or manager, including the contact information of the supervisor or manager.
