Background and Program Information

 

The RMIT Women Researchers' Network (WRN) is pleased to support funded places for eligible staff from CoBL, STEM+ schools, and DSC to attend the WATTLE (Women ATTaining Leadership) programs in 2026.

 

Two funded places are available from CoBL:

  • 1 × Academic Program (Level D/E)
  • 1 × Level C Academic Women Leadership Program

 

One funded place is available from STEM+ schools:

  • 1 × Academic Program (Level D/E)

 

One funded place is available from DSC schools:

  • 1 × Academic Program (Level D/E)

Level C Academic Women Leadership Program

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

Participants in the Academic Program must:

  • Hold a Level D or E appointment
  • Agree to attend the introduction, post-program, and fellowship sessions online
  • Be fully committed to the 4.5-day residential program (late afternoon Monday to early afternoon Friday, plus travel time) and attend all sessions including dinners
  • Provide their own transport to and from the venue (venue TBC, Melbourne, Victoria)
  • Be a member of, or agree to become a member of, the RMIT Women Researchers' Network (WRN)

 

Participants in the Level C Program must:

  • Hold a Level C appointment
  • Participate in the fully online program running 7–17 September 2026
  • Agree to attend all online sessions across the program period
  • Be a member of, or agree to become a member of, the RMIT Women Researchers' Network (WRN)

What to Submit

 

Applications must include:

  • A current CV (PDF, highlighting significant achievements/outputs of the last 5 years)
  • A short statement (no more than 1,000 words) indicating anticipated benefits, including: development needs for leadership attributes or management competencies, and how learnings will be shared upon return to RMIT. This statement will also be used to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • A written statement of endorsement from the immediate supervisor or manager, including their contact information (use the Statement of Support template provided)
